Science

SAILOR OF THE STARS will take students through the entire process of astronaut training, from applying for a position as an astronaut, to astronaut candidate training, selecting an orbiter crew, launch, working and living in space, landing, and debriefing.

Language Arts

THE MUSEUM OF I will offer students the opportunity to turn inward, explore who they are, and express what they find by creating products that are exciting and unique because they represent themselves. Diversity becomes a celebration in the classroom as students share and evaluate each other's products. The projects are open-ended, encouraging divergent, original thinking.

Mathematics

MATH AROUND THE WORLD will challenge students to develop strategies for winning games. In addition to building on students' problem-solving skills the mathematics unit will give students the opportunity to learn about other countries and the period in history when the games were invented.

Social Studies

KNIGHTS IN A CASTLE will introduce students to some of the people who lived during the Middle Ages: Charlemagne, Marco Polo, St. Francis of Assisi, troubadours, knights, and peasants. Students will play games like bocci and chess, build a castle with a drawbridge and catapult, and keep time with a homemade hourglass.
