The Smyth County School Board met today at the General Francis Marion Hotel, 109 East Main Street, Marion, Virginia, at 9:00 A.M., with all members present for a school board retreat.
Rodney Young, an attorney with the The Education Law Group, Timberlake, Smith, Thomas & Moses, P.C., provided a PowerPoint presentation and a question and answer period for the board.
Dr. Robinson and the school board discussed a process for updating the Smyth County Public School's Policy Manual, the school board's involvement in the Six-Year Improvement Plan, the possibility of conducting a facility study, the possibility of learning more about a funding plan for construction/renovation being used in Roanoke County, and the budget.
The retreat adjourned.
