Minutes of the January 20^th, 2005 meeting of the Smyth County School Board, as approved by the School Board at its February 14^th, 2005 meeting

The Smyth County School Board met today at 6:00 P.M., at the Smyth Career and Technology Center, Seven Mile Ford, Virginia, for a Community Forum concerning the 2005-2006 School Board Budget. The following members were present: Jesse Choate, Laura Hall, and Roger Nipper.

The purpose of the meeting was for an overview of the 2005-2006 School Board Budget and to gather input from the community on the budget.

Jesse Choate, Chairman of the School Board, welcomed all in attendance.

Jim Sullivan, Superintendent, presented an overview of the 2005-2006 budget. He reviewed some budget items for consideration.

Time was allowed for individuals and representatives from businesses and organizations to speak.

Board members made some closing remarks about the budget.

The meeting was adjourned.
