Biography

I came from Chicago after the Great Depression. I now live with my grandma down in Illinois . My parents didn't have no money to support me and my brother. So my brother went off                                          to serve in the army, so I had to come to my grandma’s with out him. I was never use to coming without him.

When I first came to Illinois I was use to listening to pop music on my radio, but grandma didn't like it a bit. My grandma was one of the grandmas that are tough on you and every body in town is scared of her. I brought my cat, Bootsie with me and grandma didn't like it.

When grandma would fix supper she would tell me to help her so that I would know how to cook when I get older, so now I know a lot of recipes that I now call grandma’s cooking in A Year Down Yonder.

I started having fun with my grandma and I didn't wanna leave, but grandma told me one day after school that my parents have a house and their ready for me to come back. Since I lived with my grandma, I now know how to hunt. I also know how to take up for myself and cook for me my husband and my soon to be baby girl!!

Grandma wore this to my wedding!!!

Grandma made a costume out of rabbit fur, so now she sold it to a magazine clothes company!!
