MSHS Concert Choir Receives Superior Ratings!

On March 18, The Marion Senior High School Concert Choir and Marion Middle School Choir received a Superior Rating at The District 7 Choir Concert Assessment. Each group had to perform two songs along with sight reading. The group received straight superiors from all judges, the highest rating you can receive at the event. The high school choir will perform at the High School All-County Choir event on April 7 at 7pm in the Marion Senior High School Auditorium. Both groups will perform on May 16 for their Spring Concert at 7pm.

2016 State Forensics Team Results

This is Jon's second consecutive Humorous Duo State Championship and Isaac's first. The Forensics program now has ten State Champions in nine years of competing in VHSL Forensics.

2016 Hogoheegee District Baseball Champs

The Marion Scarlet Hurricane Baseball Team brought the Hogoheegee District Tournament Championship Trophy back to Marion Senior High School for the 2nd year in a row!

Margaret Wagner Scores Her 1000th Point


Margaret Wagner scored her 1,000th point in the Conference Quarterfinals victory over Grayson County on February 18th. Margaret is the only girl in Marion Senior High School history to achieve this milestone as a Junior.

MSHS Forensics Team - Conference 39 Champions!!

The MSHS Forensics Team won its third consecutive Conference 39 Championship February 20th at Tazewell High School. Other schools competing were: Tazewell, Graham, Grayson County, and Virginia High.

Poetry Interpretation: Champion, Jazzlyn Bright; 4th Place, Caeley Glisan

Serious Dramatic Interpretation: Champion, Daisy Sturgill; Runner-up, Faith Hannula

Humorous Dramatic Interpretation: Champion, Jacob Armstrong; 3rd Place, Courtney Rhodes

Humorous Duo Interpretation: Champions, Jon Davies & Isaac Rigdon, Runners-up, Kendall Funk & Luke Sage.

Hunter Blevins, Caeley Glisan, Faith Hannula, Courtney Rhodes, Isaac Rigdon, Kendall Funk, and Luke Sage are all first-year competitors.

MSHS Theatre Group Conference Runner-Up

Conference 39 VHSL One-Act Theatre Festival runner-up ensemble. Seated L-R on the sofa are Daisy Sturgill, Lauren Rentz, Jon Davies, and Luke Sage. They each claimed individual acting honors at the Conference Festival. They will complete in the Region 2A West Theatre Festival at James River High School on November 21.

MSHS WINS VOLLEYBALL State Semi-Finals

Marion Senior High hosted Stuarts Draft in the State Semifinal Volleyball tournament Tuesday at 6:00. They won in 3 staright games! Congrats Ladies!!

Music Honors

Katelyn Richardson (delegate) and Jon Davies (alternate) from Marion Senior High School, have been selected to participate in the Virginia Music Education Association Honor Choir. Katelyn will go Norfolk to rehearse with students from around the Commonwealth to perform in a concert on Saturday, November 21, 2015. Both students auditioned against students from around the Commonwealth to be apart of this extremely selective group. They will represent Marion as part of the finest vocalists in the state.
