ADDITIONAL NOTIFICATIONS
Emergency Drills:
- Smyth County Schools will conduct emergency drills during the school year as required by the Code of Virginia.
Release of Student Records to Armed Forces Recruiters and Educational Institutions:
- Smyth County Schools will release the names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses of secondary students to all recruiters or institutions of higher education that request them unless the parents specifically request this information not be released.
- Please contact your student's school counselor for opt-out instructions
Counseling
- Parents and guardians may review relevant materials used in the academic and career guidance and personal/social counselling programs at each school and may request to limit their child’s participation.
- Please contact your child’s school for information about reviewing materials or participation procedures.
