Parental Notification for Online Learning Resources

Smyth County Public Schools students will use a variety of online educational resources during the school year, including online textbooks, video lessons, and software. The use of these resources is intended to further engage students and provide a richer educational experience. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) protects the online privacy of children under the age of 13 and requires web-based service providers to obtain parental consent prior to the collection, use, and disclosure of that child's personal information. Below is a list of the online providers that your child may use. If you do not wish your child to access any of these resources, please contact your child's school.
